When you install the Edship mobile app, certain permissions are requested by default. As these are not customizable during installation, below is a summary of permissions and their intended use: Location: To track your current location for features like Track My Bus. Camera & Photos: Used to capture or upload images for assignments, homework, or profile updates. Notifications: To keep you informed about updates like assignments, circulars, results, news, and more. Storage & Files: Required to upload and download files, documents, or multimedia from your device. Contacts (Android only): Helps simplify OTP entry by detecting the verification number from your contact list (only with user permission). File Access: Allows interaction with external storage for saving and retrieving relevant documents or images.

Photos: Save photos from Gallery to the device's camera roll. Camera: Use your camera to take photos in Create Homework and Create Assignment. Notifications: You will receive notifications for Circulars, Assignments, Queries, Query Queues, Blog Posts, News, Results, Result Sheets, Gallery, Attendance, Polls, Activities, etc. Storage: This permission is required to upload documents/photos from external storage and to save documents/photos to external storage. Contact List: Users can quickly choose phone numbers to receive OTPs by granting access to their contact list, which helps prevent fraudulent behavior. Image: Save images from the gallery to the camera roll and use the camera to take visuals and upload them to the app. File Information: This permission is required to upload files or images from external storage and to save them.
Location: This permission allows EdShip to access your location for features such as “Track My Bus” so users can know where the bus is and its estimated arrival time. EdShip does not permit general end-users (such as students) to create personal accounts directly. Account access is provisioned through educational institutions and is limited to designated users like teachers, administrators, and students.
